Community Involvement

A Sense of Shared Civic Responsibility

As a community bank, virtually every decision we make is with community – our friends, family members and neighbors, as well as the businesses that drive our local economies – at the forefront of our mind. That spirit of community, and community service, is central to who we are and how we operate, and has been a core value of ours since the bank’s founding.

As we’ve grown, we’ve never lost sight of the fact that we are what we are because of the places we call home, and we take seriously our responsibility to give back and enrich the lives of those who place their faith in us as their trusted banking provider.

Every year, we back our commitment to service by not only encouraging our employees to donate their time and effort to a cause, event, or charitable organization that’s meaningful to them, but also making sure they get paid while they do it – so no one takes any hit to their paycheck while they’re volunteering.

Celebrating

Whether we’re walking in a parade, enjoying a summer BBQ, or participating in any of the countless other events that take place in our communities throughout the year, we loving having fun and we’re always up for a good time.

Supporting

The small businesses in our villages, towns, and cities form the economic engine that powers our region. Through thick and thin, we are proud to have their backs, because when they succeed, we all succeed.

Giving Back

Great communities don’t just happen – they’re made, and they have to be nurtured. We continuously seek opportunities to give back and make meaningful, positive impacts across each of our office locations.

Our Approach to Corporate Giving

Our corporate giving is always geared toward benefiting local charities and non-profits that provide needed services to our area. We support programs and offer resources for education, community and economic development, health and human services, affordable housing and economic revitalization, and community arts, because these are the foundational cornerstones upon which our villages, towns, and cities are built.

One of our favorites times of year is Power of Community Week, which takes place every April and sees groups of SBCP employees engaging in activities like building houses for Habitat for Humanity, assisting in preservation efforts at Pheasant Branch Conservancy, and beautifying the shores of our waterways and lakes with Clean Lakes Alliance.

In the summer, you might spot us participating in your village or town’s annual festival; around the holidays, you may find us ringing bells for the Salvation Army at your local grocer. Regardless of where you see us giving back, we hope that our example inspires you to get involved and be active in making the places in which we live and work better for the future!
