We knew right from the start that one of the most important decisions we would need to make was what to name our new bank.
As a community institution, we always try to have our finger on the pulse of the markets we serve and their surrounding areas. Bancorp, Inc., the holding company for State Bank of Cross Plains (“SBCP”), and Monona Bankshares, Inc., the holding company of Monona Bank, jointly announced today they will combine in a merger of equals to create the largest bank headquartered in Dane County, Wisconsin and the sixth largest bank headquartered in the State of Wisconsin, with almost $3 billion in combined assets.
