2021 Power of Community Week

Each year, during April’s Community Banking Month, State Bank of Cross Plains proudly takes part in the Wisconsin Bankers Association’s Power of Community Week. Now in its fourth year, the purpose of the week is to “bring together … member banks and associate member companies to celebrate [their] commitment to the communities [they] serve.”

In the past, we’ve held “Supermarket Sweep” events at local grocers, helped to clean up Dane County’s waterways, pitched in at food shelters, volunteered at happenings like the Crazylegs Classic road race, and so much more. This year, faced with restrictions on in-person gatherings and other pandemic-related issues, we were forced to seek out new ways to get involved and demonstrate our love and support for the communities we call home.

We determined that monetary donations would be the most impactful means of benefiting the charities and organizations in our area, and we were honored to be able to donate $25 thousand across each of the markets we serve.

While the pandemic prevented us from taking part in many of the things that make Power of Community Week such a special and meaningful time, we are happy to have been able to still be involved in making our communities stronger, and we look forward to getting back to the things we love doing on their behalf next year!
